You're absolutely right about the United States has nothing to do with the Holocaust, but they ignored it! Moreover, what makes you think someone is forced others to visit? During World War II, the rescue of Jews and other victims of the Nazis was not a priority for the Government of the United States. It was not always clear to Allied policy makers how they could continue to relief extensive behind German lines. Thanks in part anti-Semitism (prejudice against or hatred of Jews), isolationism, the Depression, and xenophobia (or prejudice against the fear of strangers), the refugee policy of the U.S. State Department (headed by the Secretary of State Cordell Hull), it was difficult for refugees to obtain entry visas to the United States. The U.S. State Department also delayed the publication of reports of genocide. In August 1942, the State Department received a cable revealing the Nazi plans to murder the Jews of Europe. However, the report sent by Gerhart Riegner (The World Jewish Congress [CMJ] representative in Geneva) was not transmitted to the recipient, for American Jewish leader and chairman of the WJC Stephen Wise. The State Department asked Wise, who had received the report almost simultaneously via British channels, to refrain from announcing it. The United States did not act decisively to save the victims of the Holocaust. On April 19, 1943, U.S. and British representatives met in Bermuda to find solutions to the problems of war refugees. No important proposals from the conference. In 1943, e-Polish underground Jan Karski informed President Franklin D. Roosevelt, reports of murder mass received from Jewish leaders in the Warsaw ghetto. On May 13, 1939, the German transatlantic liner St. Louis sailed from Hamburg, Germany, for Havana, Cuba. On the voyage were 938 passengers, one of them was not a refugee. Almost all were Jews fleeing the Third Reich. Most were German citizens, some were from Eastern Europe, and some were officially "stateless." The majority of the Jewish passengers had applied for U.S. visas, and had planned to stay in Cuba until they can get United States. But when the St. Louis sailed, there were signs that political conditions in Cuba might keep the passengers to disembark.
