What is "Porphyry" in the formulation of concrete?
In terms of concrete mix is "Porphyry" a trade name for a specific stone or a type of stone with some properties? This would be specific to mix concrete UPHC. I would like some help in understanding this term in relation to the formulation of concrete. If I were mixing a UHPC and had all the components, should I use "Porphyry" that all or a stone with similar properties to a "Porphyry" I am familiar with Porphyry stone as a name, properties, etc., but in terms of concrete mix it seems that this term is genaric. Anyone familiar with the engineering of concrete and its generic?
This is a specific type of stone with the properties of durability, hardness, water resistance, chemical resistance, freeze / thaw resistance, green attributes and long-term affordability. It is or is not porphyry. There is no stone "with similar properties. "
