Dual Core or Quad Core for games?
Ive been getting mixed reviews on the Internet this process is the best for games. A dual effect base rate or a lower end quad core. I am running XP Pro and play games like COD4 with 2-3GB of RAM. I'm not in the assembly Extensive video or something like that if. Any help appreciated Cheers.
Quad core is better for future expansion, if you want to keep the system with marginal improvements for a longer period of time is the way to go. However, they are still expensive for power, and very little is optimized for quad-core yet. You want to get more for your money for a good time with the dual core chip. You can also do better to buy Vista (for the free upgrade to Win7 Sept / Oct); support multi-core was fixed in XP via Service Packs, while Win7 (in particular) was compiled with support for multi-core in mind.
